How it works

Spoilers... it's pretty relaxed.

1. Schedule a call

I like to get on the phone for a quick chat, much nicer and simpler than email. I'll walk through how a family session works with me, answer any questions, and we'll think about the sorts of pictures you love. If you think we're a good fit we can pick out a session date right there on the phone or later by email. Then we'll book it in with the £195 session fee and a quick questionnaire.

2. Enjoy the session

A session with me is much more like just hanging out than running a professional 'photo shoot'. There's definitely no pressure for perfectly posed portraits - real life doesn't always work like that! We'll just hang out wherever you're comfortable and I'll capture plenty of natural memories whatever you get up to. And if it's your first time I'm here with help and advice any time you need it.

3. Your finished images

The best bit. When everything's ready I'll send you a beautiful slideshow to enjoy in your gallery. Then to enjoy your finished images there's three simple collections to choose from right there in the gallery, all including great value credit to spend on albums, prints and wall art, plus archival digitals for your hard drive - so there's something for everyone.

Some questions and answers

In case you were wondering...

Why get family photography?

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” I’m much more into real family life than perfectly posed portraits. In years to come it’s the fleeting everyday moments you’ll want to remember, like jumping in puddles, playing with pets, or a storybook at bedtime. That’s the stuff I want to capture for you.

And just as important is for everyone to be in the photos for once! There’s usually a ‘designated photo taker’ in the family which means they’re often sadly missing from most of the photos. In my family it was mostly my mum who took the photos, and she’s often missing from the big events in our family albums.

So if I’m taking the photos you all get to be in them, and that’s going to mean so much to you all, and especially to future generations.

Where and when?

Anywhere you like, and there’s no time like the present. We can make great natural photos in your home, in the park, even in the street around your neighbourhood. The places we live our lives mean as much to us as the people we share them with, so it’s great to have them in your photos too.

And I think the sooner we get together for a session the better – especially if your family is growing up fast. Once you’ve got those finished images in your hands and on your walls you’ll get to enjoy them every day. And the more special they’ll become with every passing month and year – we’re going for cherished family heirlooms here!

How much is it?

The session fee of £195 (£245 on weekends & bank holidays) includes a consultation, a 60-90 minute session in central or SW London, a gallery of 45-55 edited photos (often more!), plus as much help and guidance as you need leading up to the shoot.

Then my three collections range from £300 to £575, with something for everyone. Every collection includes generous credit towards your choice of albums, gift prints and wall art to order from your gallery, plus archival-quality digital files to download.

For more info drop me a line and I’ll walk you through every option.

Who are you?

I’m Owen, a Glaswegian based in Kingston Upon Thames – pleased to meet you! That’s me in my bow tie on my way to a wedding, by the way – I shot it through a piece of fractal glass coz I thought it looked arty.

I’ve been making natural documentary-style photographs for families and couples since 2007, and I love it. I started in ‘production stills’ for movies and TV, but my favourite moments were always behind the scenes and nobody got to see them. So I switched to shooting events, weddings, and families, where I get to capture real, fleeting moments for people who’ll love to have those memories. I’m deeply chuffed that my family clients come back year after year, and I hope you will too.

I’m happy to chat through anything and everything, no pressure to book, so if you’re wondering anything just get in touch and I’ll give you a call.
